Thermal Grizzly WireView Pro II Noctua Edition
Thermal Grizzly has teamed up with Noctua to introduce a quieter version of its GPU power monitoring device, designed specifically for modern high-end graphics cards using 12V-2×6 power connectors.
Called the Thermal Grizzly WireView Pro II Noctua Edition, the new hardware combines Thermal Grizzly’s power-monitoring technology with Noctua’s cooling expertise. The device is aimed at PC enthusiasts who want to monitor GPU power delivery and identify potential connector problems before they develop into serious hardware damage.
A New Tool for Monitoring GPU Power
High-end graphics cards can draw substantial amounts of power, making power connectors an important part of system safety. Reports of melted or damaged 16-pin connectors have appeared in the PC hardware community, particularly with earlier 12VHPWR implementations.
The newer 12V-2×6 connector was designed to improve reliability, but connector-related issues have not completely disappeared. Nvidia’s flagship RTX 5090, with a rated power draw of up to 575W, is among the GPUs where power delivery and connector temperatures can become particularly important.
The WireView Pro II is designed to provide users with more detailed information about what is happening across the GPU’s power connection.
Individual 12V Monitoring
Rather than simply displaying the total power being consumed, the WireView Pro II measures current separately across each 12V conductor.
This allows users to identify uneven power distribution and potentially problematic contact conditions. Detecting these situations early could help prevent localized heating around the connector.
The device includes an integrated TFT-IPS color display, allowing important information and warnings to be viewed directly without requiring a separate monitoring application.
Users can also configure a threshold that triggers a visual warning and audible alarm when power-related conditions exceed the selected limit.
Automatic Shutdown Support
Thermal Grizzly has also included an optional shutdown feature.
When used with the supplied splitter cable, the WireView Pro II can initiate an automatic system shutdown if a configured threshold is exceeded. This provides an additional layer of protection for expensive graphics cards.
The device is designed to operate as a plug-and-play solution, with its primary monitoring and configuration functions accessible directly from the hardware.
A USB-C connection is also included for firmware updates, while optional PC software provides additional functionality.

Noctua Edition Focuses on Lower Noise
The biggest change in the Noctua Edition is its redesigned cooling system.
Thermal Grizzly worked with Noctua to create a custom cooling solution featuring a CNC-machined aluminum heatsink, a frameless NF-A4x10 fan, and Noctua’s distinctive fan grille.
The passive heatsink handles much of the cooling workload, allowing the small fan to remain switched off under many conditions.
According to Thermal Grizzly’s testing, the Noctua Edition was able to keep its fan completely off at GPU loads of up to 300W in a worst-case test environment where case fans were disabled and internal temperatures exceeded 40°C.
The standard WireView Pro II, by comparison, activated its fan after around 5 minutes and 40 seconds at 200W, while the fan started after approximately 2 minutes and 15 seconds at 300W.
At higher loads of 400W and 480W, Thermal Grizzly says the Noctua Edition more than doubled the time before its fan activated and maintained GPU connector temperatures around 3°C lower.
Quieter Operation at High Loads
Noise reduction is another major selling point of the Noctua Edition.
During the company’s testing, the standard WireView Pro II fan operated at roughly 5,000 RPM and produced approximately 39.4 dB(A) when measured from 10 cm.
The Noctua Edition operated at slightly below 2,000 RPM, with a measured noise level of around 21.5 dB(A) at the same distance.
This means the fan operates considerably more slowly and quietly when active, making the device better suited to ultra-quiet gaming PCs and workstation builds.
Because the fan remains off under many normal conditions, users may rarely hear it during everyday operation.

Designed for High-End GPUs
The WireView Pro II Noctua Edition is primarily targeted at enthusiasts running powerful modern graphics cards with 12V-2×6 or compatible 12VHPWR connections.
Its combination of power monitoring, configurable warnings, temperature management and quieter cooling is intended to provide additional visibility into GPU power delivery.
Thermal Grizzly is also offering two years of coverage for the graphics card’s 12VHPWR or 12V-2×6 connector as part of the product offering.
